Jane Kalu

Jane Kalu studies Creative Writing and Literature at the University of Southern California. Her short fiction appears in American Short Fiction, Boston Review, Narrative Magazine, The Hopkins Review, Isele Magazine, and elsewhere. She is the recipient of a 2025 O. Henry Prize and a Pushcart Prize, with her work forthcoming in The Best Short Stories 2025: The O’Henry Prize Winners and The Pushcart Prize: Best of the Small Presses. Jane has received fellowships and residencies from Vermont Studio Center, StoryKnife, and American Short Fiction, and was awarded the Cheri Peters Scholarship in Fiction to attend the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. Jane is represented by Danielle Bukowski at Sterling Lord Literistic.
